Lloyd Watson

Lloyd Watson has been a journalist for more than 30 years – seven years in newspapers, and the rest in the television industry.

He has worked as a reporter, news editor, head of news and current affairs, and senior editor.

His experience includes regional, national and international journalism.

He has also travelled to more than 30 countries teaching video production techniques to TV journalists, making him one of the world’s most experienced television trainers. (click here for full list of courses held).

Lloyd is a member of the Royal Television Society and a former director of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council. He was an external examiner for Staffordshire University’s MA courses in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Global Broadcast Journalism and Sports Broadcast Journalism.  He is a visiting lecturer at City, University of London where he teaches MA video journalism.

He is author of ‘Top Tips For Making Video News’ and ‘Making Video News’, published by Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Lloyd was a founder director of Carvetii Media Ltd which was successful in winning the licence to launch a new TV channel in his native Cumbria.

In parallel, Lloyd is also a director of Mind In Sync, a qualified hypnotherapist, a certified Mind Factor coach, a PSYCH-K™ and Gamma Healing practitioner.  He has a Diploma in Sports Psychology and a certificate in Life Coaching .
